Pat the bunny: Pioneering a genre.
Folk-Punk (or anti-folk) is a genre of music typically catergorized by having gritty raw vocals with little to no music production sang over an acoustic guitar instrumental. Pat the bunny, also known as Patrick Schneeweis, is widely regarded as the pioneer of this genre of music. Patrick has been in many different Folk-punk bands such as Johnny Hobo and the Freight Train, Wingnut Dishwashers Union, and Ramshackle Glory. He had brought a new vibe to the music industry. Patrick had introduced the idea of imperfections which would typically be seen as “bad sounding” as something to be appreciated and looked deeper into. Many of Patrick’s songs have political messages and he is able to convey very strong emotions about his views through his music. A whiny man with an acoustic guitar screaming about world issues has never sounded so good. Folk-punk as a genre has Pat The Bunny to thank for how it has grown.
